Our Process

Step 1 – Pre-clean inspection

I will examine your oven and advise you of any damage or defects that may impact on their ability to thoroughly clean it. They will also give you an estimate of the time needed to complete the work.

Step 2 – Prepare the work area

To protect the area around the oven, and to minimise any mess, I will lay dustsheets in front of the oven.

Step 3 – Strip out the oven

I will remove all items from inside the oven, including shelves, racks, grill pans, self-cleaning panels, roasting trays and filters. They will also check that any light bulbs are functioning, and replace if necessary.

Step 4 – Put items into the dip tank

Items such as racks, shelves and grill pans are taken to the van to be soaked in a polypropylene dip tank containing eco-friendly products.

Step 5 – Remove bottom hung doors

Where possible iI will remove the oven door, which makes it easier to thoroughly clean the door and surrounds. Please note: this is not possible with side-hung doors or where a door is a sealed unit.

Step 6 – Clean the internal facings of the oven

I will clean out the body of the oven, initially using a sharp blade to scrape out as much residue as possible. They then use a vegetable-based, entirely environmentally friendly paste to remove any remaining burnt-on residue. After applying a degreaser, the oven is buffed to a polished finish.

Step 7 – Clean the door

I will repeat the process to clean the door, including the glass, side panels, edges, hinges and surrounds.

Step 8 – Clean any ancillary items

I will wash any self-cleaning panels, control knobs, seals and glass casings.

Step 9 – Remove items from the dip tank

I will remove any items that have been left to soak in the dip tank and thoroughly wash them; this is done outside the house to avoid bringing any harmful caustic product into the home.

Each item is checked and any remaining stains are removed using stainless steel wool before the items are dried, polished and returned to the kitchen.

Step 10 – Reconstruct the oven

I then replace all the items that have been removed from the oven and refits the door, if it had been removed.

Step 11 – Quality check

I will check for any remaining stains or residue from the cleaning product; that the light is functioning; that the door is correctly aligned and closes correctly; and then give a final polish to remove any fingerprints or smears.

Step 12 – Clear up

I always leave your kitchen as I found it, I always remove all equipment, clean any splash marks from neighbouring surfaces and on the floor, and fold away dust sheets and tea towels.

Step 13 – Customer check

At this point you will be invited you to check the work.

Step 14 – End of clean

I will then confirm that the oven is now clean and ready to use again.
